There are 78 faculty members inSchool of Architectural and Surveying& Mapping Engineeringcurrently including 14 professors, 16 associate professors and 32 lecturers. 12 teachers got the title of young scientist, academic and technical leader of major disciplines, young academic leader of colleges and universities or young backbone university teacher inJiangxiprovince. Teachers hold doctoral and masters degree accounting for 85% of the total.

The school offers 7 undergraduate programs: Surveying & Mapping Engineering, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Water Supply & Drainage engineering, Geographic Information System, Resources Environment & Urban and Rural Planning and Management, Built Environment and Plant Engineering, 4 postgraduate programs: Geodetic Science & Measuring Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Cartography &Geographic Information System, 2 postgraduate programs for ME: Surveying and Mapping Engineering, and Architecture and Civil Engineering. There is also 1 provincial-level key discipline, 1 brand and 1 special subject, 1 provincial-level teaching team, 2 university-level key disciplines. Civil Engineering was listed as the first round of undergraduate admission inJiangxiprovince for the first time in 2009.

The school now has large equipment and instruments such as advanced dual-frequency GPS measuring system, and rock mechanics test system, worth more than 2000 million yuan. The leading research fields of measuring engineering, application of geographic information system, environmental geotechnical and ecological restoration techniques, monitoring and analyzing techniques of slope stability, digital city, urban planning and construction design, land use planning & land survey, soil mechanics & foundation processing technology, design and optimization of water distribution network, theory and technology of wastewater treatment, technology of energy-saving emission reduction have been formed currently. It has undertaken more than 300 National Natural Science Fund Projects, state scientific and technological projects, provincial and ministerial-level scientific research and research projects cooperated with enterprises with annual research funds of more than 500 million yuan. More than 100 papers are published each year, 10 of which can be found by SCI, EI, and ISTP. The school has won over 30 national scientific and technological progress awards, provincial and ministerial level awards.

Currently the school has over 1800 undergraduate students and 150 postgraduate students. Graduates can work in the field of construction, land management, urban planning, environmental protection, navigation, transportation, civil construction, engineering survey and design, design institute, construction group, land and mineral resources management, surveying & mapping and education, etc. The employment rate at a time is 90%, and they have received high praise from the employers.

Undergraduate Programs:

1. Civil Engineering

Major Courses:mechanics of materials; structural mechanics; architectural drawing; civil engineering material; engineering survey; soil mechanics; foundation engineering; building construction; concrete construction; steel construction; designing structures of high rising buildings; civil engineering construction; railway line engineering; road bed road surface engineering; bridge construction; budgetary estimation of engineering; computer technology and applications.

2. Surveying and Mapping Engineering

Major Courses: fundamentals of geodesy and cartography; principles and methods of digital mapping; basis of surveying adjustment; foundation of geodesy; geo-information system and its applications; photogrammetry; principles of remote sensing and its application; spatial location techniques and its application; engineering survey.

3. Geographic Information System

Major Courses: Object-oriented programming, database theory, and Oracle applications, data structures, computer graphics, GIS software engineering, computer aided drafting, spatial database, GIS software applications, principles and methods of digital mapping, GPS principles and applications, natural geography, human geography, economic geography, cartography, remote sensing, geographic information systems theory, geographic information systems design and application

4. Urban Planning

Major Courses: Principles of urban planning, urban design, management and regulations of urban planning, architectural drawing A, color composition, Chinese and foreign history of urban construction, urban economics, urban roads and transport, urban environment and ecology, landscape planning, overall planning, detailed planning, regional planning, principles and design of architecture design

5. Water & Wastewater Engineering

Major Courses: water analytical chemistry, hydraulics, pumps and pumping stations, water microbiology, equipments of water process, water engineering economics, computer application of urban water engineering, water quality engineering, water & wastewater piping system, water & wastewater engineering for building

6. Resources, Environment & Urban-Rural Planning Management

Major Courses: management, environmental science, economics, urban management, urban planning principles, urban planning and design, urban roads and traffic management, urban information management system, urban infrastructure and public works management, environmental monitoring and management, urban management and construction financing, urban digital planning (AutoCAD), urban economics, system modeling of region and environment, regional analysis and planning

7. Building Environment and Equipment Engineering

Major Courses: electrical engineering and electronics, mechanical design,heat transfer theory, hydrodynamics and fluid machinery, engineering thermodynamics, engineering mechanics, architectural drawing, computer applications, building environment theory, air regulating, refrigeration technology, ventilation engineering, heat supply engineering , automatic control theory, measurement of building environment, building electric, building water & wastewater
